dc.description.abstract Purpose: This study aims to analyse the effect of video training provided to patients with liver transplant on their anxiety, depression and sleeping pattern. Materials and Methods: The sample group was comprised of 60 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The patients were classified as control (n=30) and experiment (n=30) groups with accidental sampling method. The data were acquired through Socio-Demographic Characteristics Questionnaire, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale and Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index. The liver transplanted patients in the experiment group were provided with a video training in two sessions, one before and one after the transplantation, in order to decrease their levels of anxiety/depression and improve their sleep quality. The video training was provided to experiment group in addition to regular nursing care services of the clinic and lasted for 40 minutes. On the other hand, the control group received only nursing care as a routine clinical practice. Results: Although all the subscale scores of hospital anxiety and depression scale incurred a decrease after the transplantation, no statistically significant difference was discoveredSimilarly, there was no statistically significant difference between the experiment and control groups as regards to the subscale scores of PSQI which was used to assess the sleep quality of the patient. Conclusion: For the patients who experience anxiety before and after liver transplant, it is recommended to schedule training programs and approaches for alleviating their levels of anxiety/depression, come up with attempts to meet the psychological and physiological needs of patients and improve their sleep quality. en_US
